Le disappointment.
We went to the Bean last night to check out Luminous Field….and it pains me to say this but I was underwhelmed.
Wah wah.
Maybe it was the fact that there were 1000 screaming children swarming like angry bees through the field, 100 amateur photogs staking out all of the best viewing spots with their tripods and massive amounts of equipment, or the fact that the lights weren’t that bright and the music was too low.
I had such high hopes. But if you haven’t seen the Bean at night, its still worth the trip, because it’s a totally different experience than it is during the day. Millennium Park rocks even if this particular art installation was a little over-hyped by NPR and the city. And I’m still happy we went, because more attendance will attract better, more frequent events like this from the park district in the future.
