Back from Breckenridge and ready for a big week.
First things first, the trip review:
- this is our fourth annual Breckenridge trip. The group waxes and wanes but it’s always at least 12 people and those people are always awesome. It’s hosted by one of my favorite people in the world and her equally awesome husband, who are beyond generous with their home.
- on the first day we got some quality time with above said favorite people as we bummed around Denver waiting for the others to arrive.
- the house, as always, was incredible. Perfect for stripping down to long underwear after a long day skiing, grabbing some brewskis in the hot tub, and then getting cozied up in pj’s for long nights of football, pool, cards and board games. Can’t ask for a better time.
- we skied Breck, as always, because its only about a 5 minute drive from the house, but David and I also got out to Copper Mountain. We’ve never been there and it was phenomenal…even though the snow conditions are not so ideal for this time of year.
And now, reflecting on the trip, a few things I would like to hold close to my heart:
- I’m thankful for wonderful friends (old and new) that are always up for a good time, and simultaneously always there for you
- the fortune that Dave and I can not only see these friends at least once a year, but see them under the wonderful circumstances of an awesome vacation
- my physical health and (somewhat) athletic capability that makes it possible to enjoy two full days of intense downhill skiing without completely collapsing
- David, who is my forever travel companion and always makes me feel at home, no matter where we are in the world
